Azarbaijan is divided into three provinces; East Azarbaijan, West Azarbaijan and Ardebil. Tabriz is the capital of East Azarbaijan province. This city is the cradle of freedom and home to many great freedom lovers such as sattar Khan, Bager Khan, segatoleslam and sheikh mohammad Khiabani who have played a key role in launching the constitutional revolution. Tabriz major industrial, trade and commercial center, through the course of history has faced many calamities but has never bowed down and always has emerged triumphantly. On the North Tabriz neighbors the city of abhar , on the East the cities of Sarab and Mianeh, on the south Hashtroud and Maragheh and on the west Orumieh and West Azarbaijan Province. This city is the second largest city of Iran and it is 619 Kilometers from Tehran, the capital city of Iran and 159 Kilometers South of Jolfa, on Iran - azarbaijan Republic border.

Monuments :
 

with a very rich history, Tabriz housed many historical monuments. unfortunately, many of them were destroyed in repeated invasion and attacks of foreign forces and negligence of government of time as well as natural disaster such as earthquake and flood. what remains now mostly dates back to the Ilkhanian, the Safaviyeh and Qajar dynasties. some of the monuments are unparalleled master pieces in architecture.
